Palelni Mine, Khetchel Village, Molo Quarter, Momeik Township, Shan State, Myanmar (Burma). Dimensions: 2.2 x 2.0 x 1.8cm, thumbnail.
This is a very unusual Pollucite in that it etched and now in a slightly rounded form. Pollucite is very rare in the Burmese pegmatites and is only validated at the Palelni Mine, Pollucite is the cesium analogue of Analcime and is only found in highly fractionated pegmatites with other rare and unusual minerals. This rounded Pollucite has a satiny luster and is translucent so it glows a bit when backlit.
There is a small amount of Kaolinite-Goethite in the tiny surface crackles on the piece for extra character. There were only a few of these represented in Bill Larson's Burma thumbnail-miniature collection.
